Kanyakumari witnessed moderate rainfall
across the district. It is believed that the town had a heavy rainfall
continuously for two days. During that time, everything was damaged including
house, vehicle, industries and much more. According to the sources of Water
Resources Organization, the areas of Marthandam, Kuzhithurai, Kaliyakavilai,
Arumanai and other nearby dams faced a modern rain since yesterday morning.

With news of high rainfall in next days,
the officials have released around 500 cusecs of water from Chitrar I dam at
11:00 AM. The government authorities have issued a flood alert for the
downstream villages. Water levels in dams like Poigai, Perunchani and
Mambazhathuraiaru have been increased to a great level.

during such flood crisis. Almost, all the trains and busses have been stopped
for service. Kanyakumari-Bangalore Express which has been scheduled at 12.10
has been rescheduled at 16.00 hours. Many people complain that bus agents
charge up to Rs.1500 per ticket.
Apart from Kanyakumari, there are many
districts affected by this heavy flood. Chennai is one of the major cities that
are flooded with loads and loads of water.
People don’t have a shelter, food and other
