The mid-range and low end hotels are not facing easy ride
these days. Due to the popularity of vacation rental sites, the growing hotels
have started to focus on creating new fresh look to compete in the market. The innovative
concepts of Tune Hotels and Nomad Hotels are the major reason for this rise in
competition. Most of the Boutique budget hotels offer a luxurious accommodation
with stylish and modern designs. Recently, they have gone a step higher with a “pick
and pay” option.
The Pick and Pay concept enables the guests to economize their
stay suiting to their required service and product such as cleaning, internet
connection, room-safe and much more. With this, the Airline industry has also
started to follow this bundling concept in which the customers have to pay only
for the products and services they actually want. However, there are few situations
where the customers think that certain products come as standard.
How “Pick and Pay” Works?
Till date, the Nomad and Tune Hotels are receiving a
majority of positive reviews for this new concept. Both these hotels totally
offer a different booking process when it comes to amenities. Tune Hotels provide
a cheapest room rate called as “bare bones” with no amenities. Guests can
choose from the list of amenities and add as needed. Each of the product and
service will have their rate such as WiFi $4 per day, TV $3 and so on.
The Nomad Hotels offers a total reverse system. Guest will
be given a room with all available amenities. Only breakfast will be excluded. If
a guest doesn’t want cleaning service, then they can remove that particular
service from their list. Do you have your own towel? Then, take out towel from
the list.
All you have to do is to de-select your amenities and save
how much you want. From these two hotels, it is confirmed that Tune Hotels
benefit more profit as they offer cheapest rooms with a good choice.
Future of Pick and Pay
This pick and pay is a very new concept in the hospitality
industry. With this, the guests can pay for extra items if they want. It gives
a transparent dealing with the respective hotel. May be, the mid range and
budget hotels may adapt themselves to this pick and pay option as a matter of
creating satisfaction to customers.
